This vivid, green gemstone is summer-time favorite. Sometimes referred to as a “Cashmere-Peridot,” it has become more popular today, as leading fashion designers once again celebrate the color green. Known as a symbol of happiness, the Peridot (pronounced pair-a-doe) is found in a range of cheerful colors – from a delicate yellow-green to a bright, lime-green hue. Historical legend has it that Peridot was the favorite gemstone of Cleopatra. Pliny wrote about the green stone from Zagbargad Island in 1500 B.C.
